1 lb          Rigatoni pasta (500 g)

2 c           Shredded Mozzarella cheese


Method:

 

  1.  Over medium heat, crumble and cook ground beef and onion in a large saucepan until browned. Make sure onions have softened.  Drain any juices.
  2. Add the Italian seasoning, garlic, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Pour the pasta sauce and stir occasionally over medium heat (about 5 minutes).  Then, set aside.
  4. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat to cook the rigatoni in and reduce heat to medium-high, and cook until al dente.
  5. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.  Drain the rest. 
  6. Add the pasta water into the meat sauce.
  7. Combine the cooked Rigatoni and the sauce.  Pour this into a lightly greased 9"x13” or similar baking dish.
  8. Cover with greased foil and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or until heated through.
  9. Uncover and sprinkle with cheese, and bake it for 10 minutes more until cheese has started to brown.
  10. Serve while hot.
